Become a Conservative Posts Blogger.

Conservative Posts was created so that like-minded conservatives could have a place to come together and voice their opinions.  Blogging is easy, and it’s a great way to share your thoughts on current events with the world.  If you have found a good article, you can link to it from your post, and even embed a video you found on another site.  All that I ask is that you give credit where it is due.

Becoming a Conservative Posts blogger is easy.

  1. Simply register for an account with a valid email address.  Once you have received the email with your password, you can log-in to your account.
  2. Once you’ve logged into your account, click “Profile” at the top left of the screen.  Here you can edit your information, and change your password from the system generated password you logged in with.  I ask that you at least include your first name, or nickname, and change the “Display name publicly as” option to whatever you choose.  Keep in mind that a real name like “Joe Smith”, or simply “Joe” will give you more credibility than “joeizcool2009″ as your public name.  I only ask that these fields be edited so that I know you’ve logged in successfully, as they’re blank by default.  Feel free to fill in the rest of the fields as well (website, bio, contact info, etc.).
  3. Send me an email to let me know that you’d like to be a Conservative Posts Contributor.  Be sure to include your user name so that I know who you are.  At this point, I’ll change your account status from subscriber to contributor.
  4. Start blogging!  All of your contributions will show up in the various social networks, such as Twitter and Facebook, that Conservative Posts publishes to.

All of your contributions will be held for approval until I approve them.  As such there are a few guidelines that need to be followed in order to have your posts approved.

  1. No profanity.  If you feel that you have to swear at someone, your commentary probably isn’t all that interesting anyhow.
  2. Original content (i.e. something you’ve written yourself) does not need to be referenced, unless you have a website you’d like to reference.  Everything else must have a source.  You can source external data in two ways.  The first is by linking the text somewhere in your post to the source (i.e. content from a New York Times article might be linked like this).  Second, is by having your source’s URL listed at the end of the article (i.e. Source: http://www.nytimes.com/).
  3. Keep the commentary’s subject focused around politics.  That’s what the readers come here for.  If they want to find out about your dog’s third birthday party, well I’m sure there are other websites where that sort of thing might be more interesting.
  4. Spam of any kind will almost certainly get your account suspended indefinitely.  That means any “male enhancement”, get-rich-quick, or online poker ads are not acceptable.  I have an automatic filter for comments to keep this sort of nonsense out, and will filter out any posts that include it as well.
  5. Have fun!
